Heath Ledger was named after Heathcliff, the main character from Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë. His parents loved the novel, and they chose the name “Heath” inspired by Heathcliff. Interestingly, his sister Kate was also named after Catherine (Cathy) from the same book.
